Yes, it is okay. Remember that the main goal is to hep your child cope with his or her disabilities and maximize his or her potential.
Can a family member get paid with Medicaid waiver dollars after providing any services to his relative?
Yes, but only in justifying conditions. A family member can provide some of the services and get paid using waiver dollars. The federal law points out that parents of a child and a spouse cannot be paid. In order for it to happen, requests need to be reviewed and approved on a case-to-case basis.
Can we use waiver dollars on anything that my family wants?
Waiver money cannot be spent on just anything a person wants. There are certain rules and guidelines that need to be observed. The services that will be paid in waiver dollars are spelled out in an eligible person’s service plan, and the service that they get should be for that purpose only.
Can MRI harm my child?
MRI is generally safe for your child. Compared with x-rays and CT scans, MRI is safer since it does not use radiation to take a picture of your body like an x-ray or a CT scan.
