Kathleen M. Hine

Kathleen Hine, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Educational Psychology. Dr. Hine began her career conducting basic research. This was followed with a nationwide effort to bring large congregate care facilities for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) into compliance with new federal regulations requiring active treatment.

Dr. Hine served as the Outreach Director of the Dual Diagnosis Treatment & Training Services, a new program designed to assist agencies and families in the community as a means of preventing the need for inpatient care. In this role Dr. Hine served persons of all ages throughout the state.

As a Co-investigator of the Family Care Treatment & Training Services Dr. Hine designed, administered and implemented a grant serving families with children with challenging behavior with a budget of over $2 million. In her years as a behavior analyst, Dr. Hine has conducted both experimental and applied research with individuals with IDD and challenging behavior, and staff instruction.
