MA, BCBA
My passion lies in the neuropsychology of autism and its impact on children and their families. As an author and advocate working in homes and schools, as well as the Regional Center system, I bring awareness of political and health-related issues to the larger Pasadena and Los Angeles communities. I work as a Senior BCBA at Autism Learning Partners, and have co-founded a statewide advocacy and support group for Siblings of brothers and sisters with disabilities.
After receiving my Bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Southern California, I graduated with a Master's in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College. My thesis centered on the descriptive nature of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and the effects of recent changes in diagnostic criteria on children with ASD. My autobiographical work on growing up with a sister with autism was published in early April, 2015.
I am currently working toward my Ph.D. in Psychology with a Behavior Analysis Specialization at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology here in Los Angeles. My thesis work is under Dr. Henry Schlinger, and centers on social and behavioral issues of menstrual care in populations with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
