The Special Learning Commitment to Social Responsibility

community

Special Learning takes our leadership role very seriously by taking action to give back to the global community. We hold ourselves accountable for the company’s impact on the environmental and social well-being of all those we seek to help.

Our planned strategies and actions focus on providing the skills, knowledge, and training that is required to alleviate a significant global challenge. That challenge, in short, is the tens of millions of individuals on the autism spectrum who lack sufficient ways and means to access a critical, life-changing autism intervention called Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

ABA is the only evidence-based intervention proven to allow children on the autism spectrum to mainstream. Although grounded in behavioral science, simple ABA methods can be taught to family members, teachers, and others so that every child can have access to this life-changing intervention.

Special Learning offers the global community a comprehensive array of affordable autism resources to virtually anyone with an internet connection. This world-wide focus is the foundation of Special Learning’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of millions of people – those on the spectrum, their families and others who provide love, care, and support.

The Four Pillars of Our Efforts

  1. People – We always strive to represent the richness of the global community that we serve. Special Learning’s inclusive culture is one in which all team members are respected for their unique talents, backgrounds, and experiences. We recognize that innovative ideas can come from any person, regardless of their role, so we encourage each team member to share his/her voice and empower them to do what is best for our clients.
  2. Ethics – Ethics are the cornerstone of Special Learning. Unquestionably, we expect every member of our organization, partners, and affiliates to operate with the highest level of ethical and moral standards every day. Ethics permeate every aspect of our business. We hold ourselves to the highest standards to ensure that our products and services are designed to produce the best quality outcomes. We believe that it is our duty and responsibility to promote and educate the global autism and special needs community on how the Ethics Code is practiced and enforced. We do this by partnering with world-renowned experts to shape the consciousness of practitioners, and to ensure that ethical practice is the norm, not the exception.
  3. Community – Special Learning proactively searches for every opportunity to advance the greatest good for our clients and associates in the nearly 100 countries in which we do business. We understand the need to tailor our solutions to best meet the unique needs and opportunities in the countries in which we operate. Translating our solutions into different languages and adjusting our pricing model for developing countries are only a few ways in which we demonstrate our understanding and show our commitment to the global community.
  4. Economic – One of Special Learning’s core values is to bring accessible and affordable quality autism resources to those in need. As we continue to extend our reach, Special Learning looks for ways to leverage our experience and influence in order to bring even greater economic value to current and prospective clients and the global community at large.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by its very nature is an aspirational continuous journey. Special Learning is deeply committed to aligning our organization towards executing the priorities stated above. Outstanding CSR platforms also are adaptable and flexible in the midst of an ever-changing world. As always, we welcome feedback and suggestions about our CSR efforts.
